My
Story...

Having been born in the Middle East, immigrated to the USA, married a Scotsman, had daughter and lived the last few years in Dubai, UAE I can honestly say I have gathered a wealth of experience in different cultures, their approach to food, fitness, health and over all well-being. Having now returned home to California I can offer my clients a wealth of experience gained through a holistic understanding approach to all the pillars of health.

As said, I am a mother to one young girl, as mothers do for years, I found it difficult to prioritize my own fitness needs over the needs of my family. However, while living  in Dubai I took an interest in my overall health and well-being and joined a fitness club. I quickly got hooked on to physical exercise and my new fitness regime became an integral part of my life. my stamina increased and my overall well-being improved significantly.

As my awareness of the link between fitness and health deepened, I began to appreciate the role of nutrition in general fitness and well-being. That led me undertake studies to acquire a formal accreditation from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, a USA based and world’s largest health coaching organization.

​

My health coaching practice allows me to combine my interest in health with my passion for impacting people positively. I firmly believe in doing work that has a constructive impact on people, as a Health Coach, I will help you to develop long term and sustainable wellbeing for you and your entire family. My Health Coaching Approach

The Nutritionist / Dietician and Health Coach all have a common goal: to help their clients lead a healthier life. How they achieve that goal differs by their approach. A Nutritionist / Dietician would provide you with nutrition-based guidelines, meal plans and supplements to address specific medical issues.

As your Health Coach, on the other hand, I would focus on all the pillars of health and well-being with a holistic methodology that includes nutrition awareness, other areas of life that can impact client’s wellbeing by implementing a goal setting and accountability-based approach.

The start point is always with a commitment you make to yourself and it ends with you being a healthier you!   As your Health and wellness coach, I will guide and provide you with the information and tools you need. Including skills to boost your resilience, confidence, and aptitude, as well as effective plans for overcoming difficulties and setting the course for your success.  Our focus will be on balancing the body, mind, and spirit, we won’t just set goals; I will help you  reach them as we work together to exploit and realize your full potential. Together we will build the pillars that will support your health and wellbeing now and for the future.

Key to our overall well- being is attaining an understanding that other factors present in our daily lives and not just the food we eat impact and affects our health.  I work with my clients to identify all aspects of their life that impact their health. Ask yourself:

  • Does stress at your job or in your relationships cause you to overeat?

  •  Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?

 

Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and spiritual practice are the ‘Primary Foods’ that support what we eat. Our goal is to utilize specific techniques to help you identify the factors that lead to your food choices.

Diet to Nutrition

We all have our own distinctive food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison; that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run.

I will never prescribe a diet; my aim is to work with you to explore the food that is right for your unique and individual needs. My intent is to introduce you to local produce, whole grains, high quality protein and healthy fats. I will help you create an awareness of simple and easy to obtain health food that ought not to cost a lot of money. Did you know that not all food needs to be organic and there are a number of inexpensive superfoods available? By ingesting food that is unsurprisingly good for you, you will naturally have less space and desire for unhealthy food.

Advice to Accountability

My role as your Health Coach is to support you in identifying the specific steps to achieve their well-being goals. Once we have agreed the precise solutions, we will develop a plan to achieve the desired outcome. We all know that change can be difficult; my job as your Health Coach is to help you to adhere to the change until it becomes a habit.
